Warriors Mav’s Game 4

If you thought the Warriors game 3 vs. the Mavericks was good on Friday Sunday night was even more ridiculous! It was me, Patrick and John at home each home alone chatting on IM and screaming through IM all night long! Congrats to Frank for being 7 rows from the floor at the game! It is indescribable how exciting it was to watch the Warriors!

Taking a step back as a regular spectator game 4 was one of the most fun games to watch ever. The score was neck to neck and it was a close game throughout! You have to admit that there is a strange appeal of watching a Dodge Ball like performance of the 8th place Warriors going up on the 1st place ranked Mavericks. How does a 67 – 15 team get taken down 3 games to 1 from a team with a 42 – 40 point record? Part of it is just home court crowd. You play a team and fans that haven’t seen playoffs for 13 years you are going to have a-lot to deal with in Oakland with a record crowd of ~20,000. Overall though this is not the same Golden State team at all. We got rid of Dunleavy and Murphy which were just dead weight and brought in some street balers from Indy. It took time to gel though and they have in the last 20 games. Don’t forget that Baron Davis and J Rich returned from injury! I can’t imagine what pain killers they are shooting up but its working!

The Warriors are playing with sheer desire and heart. If you watch sometimes there are some forced bad shots, too many missed three’s, no rebounding, horrible free throws but who cares! Despite all of that they hung in the game and played defence? Wow! Each time Dallas dished out their best the Warriors answered. Even if it was the half time mid court 1.1 second 3 point Baron Davis shot to tie the game 49 – 49! Or the 72 – 70 lead before the third and Baron Davis drives down to dunk to end the third quarter. The Mavericks were doing all that they could possibly do but could NOT stop the Warriors! 103 – 99 go Warriors! As predicted they would win at home, the crowd would not allow a loss. I think chances are that the Warriors will probably lose on Tuesday with a close game and close out the game on Thursday at home. The Mavericks are overdue for at least one good game on Tuesday at home.

Watching post a game interview Dirk was speechless and Johnson without any answers on what to do with the Warriors. They truly sounded defeated already. This team has dished out the best that they have and only deliver losses. Sometimes when folks have the hot hand and lady luck and desire on their side there is nothing you can do about it!
I am going to round up my boys and find a pub to watch the Tuesday game. Hopefully the Warriors open up the stadium for us to watch there for free like before! Charles Barkley hung his head real low and said “I was wrong; the Warriors are very fun to watch and the luckiest team in basketball.” Thanks for coming around Charles, thanks for fuelling the Bay Area fire it just helped us more to win!

Alex Smith and Vitamin Water

It was a lovely Saturday morning and the rains are finally gone as we move closer to May. The day hit highs of 82 degrees and the sun is shining!

Alex Smith

What made today better was that it was draft day for the NFL and Frank and Jenie had tickets to an intimate Vitamin Water gathering! It was so awesome to meet Alex Smith, a youthful, quiet and humble young man that if you didn’t know better you would say he’s just a regular college student. Just under 6’5” we sat around and chatted with him like he was one of the boys. Frank and I were like little kids with our 49er footballs getting autographs what a sweet deal! I am hoping that Alex has a blow out season this year!

NFL Draft

The Niners continue beefing up their defense with Linebacker Patrick Willis from Mississippi in the first round. I say this is well needed as the linebacker position has lacked a terror every since Ronnie Lott and the loss of Adrian Peterson. We need someone to lay folks out, stop the run and put pressure on quarterbacks!

The Denver Bronco’s move up 4 spots to grab Defensive End Jarvis Moss. There seems to be a big focus on Defense by many teams this year!

The biggest surprise of the day was poster child Brady Quinn who was passed up over and over again but eventually the Browns traded up to get him in the 22nd pick over all in the 1st round. This worked out well as he was a Cleveland Browns fan as a kid. The look of anguish was priceless from the rookie.

Warriors Game 3 vs Dallas!

Last night the Warriors destroyed the Mavericks in a huge win with a final score of 109 -91. It looked like role reversal as the Warriors made the Mavericks frustrated with 2 technical fouls! In the second half Dallas never pulled close as the Warriors were always had a double digit lead. The crowd was just insane and as stated on KNBR “the fans won’t let the Warriors lose.” You could hear the fans blasting through the television set and they seemed to be standing the entire game. Dallas has given the Warriors all they’ve got and the Warriors aren’t even flinching except on Wednesday. I say the odds are stacked against the Mavericks and the Warriors need to take care of business tomorrow night!

Plug for Vitamin and Smart Water

I never really cared too much for either of these, but since they started to stock these at work I am quite a big fan! Smart Water has electrolytes (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolytes) which is good for ya! They also take the base Smart Water and developed Vitamin Water which is very good for you! My favourite Vitamin Water drink is Formula 50, 50 cents water! I am a convert. I have not tried to hydrate on this after sports but should give it a try. I probably will stick to Gatorade but supposedly I get a-lot of sugar and sodium with Gatorade. But with a gruelling work out, it may not be a bad thing!

Warriors Reflection, Giants and Sharks!

Sorry folks it’s all about sports lately. My life has been nothing but work, work, and work! But its sports that gets me through and my wife of course!

Warriors Game 2

On the front page of the Sports section for the Mercury News was a 6 x 11 photo of the starting line-up. The referee pointing at Baron Davis, Steven Jackson’s mouth wide open, JR with a face of confusion, Barnes pulling back on Jackson and Beidrens staring on and Nellie in the background looking at the ground. This summarized the Warriors pitiful Game 2 against the Mavericks. Too many turnovers, worrying about calls and not playing the game. The Warriors simply lost their composure and forgot to play fundamental basketball. But this Warriors team is making a statement. They are tough in a thuggish Iverson way and you better bet that in Game 3 at home in the ghetto town of Oakland that they are going to take it to the Mavericks.

And despite Davis ejected in the third and Jackson in the fourth, the Mavericks didn’t destroy the Warriors. They had a chance to be in the game. Nowitzki is all but missing, not knowing how to deal with the double teams and the Warriors do what we do in street ball, they switch on everything and play mostly man D with some zone. They count on their speed. The Warriors need to keep their cool and stick with the game plan. Don’t drive in on 4 big guys inside! Kick it out to Jackson who can hit those outside shots. Dribble around slow big guys and hit short range jumpers. They lost control and it became 1 on 4 selfish basketball. Hopefully Nellie puts the smack down but Game 3 and 4 in the Arena, my money is on the Warriors! The Warriors were killing me and Frank while watching that game don’t do that again!

Giants 7 Game Win Streak!

We were too harsh on the Giants in their first games and now they are red hot with an 8 game win streak and they swept the Dodgers. Tied for 1st place! Go Giants and go Barry at 731 with 14 more to go!

Sharks Take Game 1 Verses Detroit!

2-0 first game. Go Freakin Sharks!

Go Giants and Go Warriors Game 2

Bay Area sports keeps getting better and better. We were hard on the Giants their first few games but now they are on a 6 game win streak and even beating the Dodgers for once! The bullpen seems to be pulling it together and the offense starting to move!

Don't forget to watch the Warriors verses the Mav's tonight. My buddy and I will be watching this game over wings, pizza and beer of course! Go Warriors Game 2!

A Great Day in Bay Area Sports

April 18, 2007 - The Greatest Day in Bay Area Sports

The Bay Area has suffered the last decade with very poor teams in all categories. Last night was a night that truly stands out the most.

Warriors Make Playoffs After 13 years!

The last time the Warriors saw the playoffs was 1994. They were playing Warren G on the radio reminding us how long it has been. What the heck was I doing in 1994? I was a pimple faced, 100 pound sophmore in high school, rebelling the straight A's expectations of first generation American Born Chinese kids. I was foolishly in love and I played badminton from 3PM - 8PM everyday and I didn't study. Wow has it been that long and how far I've come from that rebellion! The Warriors took out the Trailblazers last night for a HUGE turn around season coming on top from the Indy trade. Goodbye Dunleavy and go Nelson! It is so refreshing to see the Warriors playing as a team and Baron Davis healthy for now. GO WARRIORS!

Sharks Lead Series 3 - 1

On top of such great basketball news, the Sharks have sucked for quite some time as well. But in the last few years they have been the team to watch! They beat out the Predators with a score of 3 -2 and lead the series 3 -1. Go Thornton!

SF Giants

After a tough loss to the Rockies leading 3 - 0 and somehow blowing that lead in the 8th with 5 scores from Denver, the Giants came back a swinging last night against the Cardinals. In the 8th inning Barry pounds a homerun out to the cove for his 738th of the season 4 for the season and he needs to get to 755. This ties the game at 5 - 5 and in the 12th inning the Giants pull it through 6 - 5.

I don't care about all the Ballco news. My question is who doesn't do dope these days in the league. The facts here are that steroids won't help you hit a baseball, and he's been doing that all of his career and still doing it. I cheer for Barry all the way!

Even the A's!

And even the A's win last night as well.

American Idol

Unrelated to the Bay Area but Sanjaya was voted off today as well. This year Idol has an unbelievable amount of NO TALENT on that show. I am no longer watching!

March April Update!

It has been a long time since I have written and I have a-lot of thoughts but no time to write them! Things have been crazy at work1 and work2, tons of work to do and so little time!

What have I been up to you ask?

Happy B-day Honey et All!

I wanted to wish my honey the happiest birthday ever and all of my friends who also have March/April b-days. Happy birthday to Katie, Paul, Debbie, Jenie, Jie, Brycen, Steve, Bruce and heck if I know who else I’ve missed happy b-day to you all! From now on it’s going to be our baby’s b-day so live it up cus we will just be a memory.

Check out our night at Menara in San Jose for a night of Moroccan belly dancing! Food was ok but the entertainment astounding!
Go Warriors!

A big thanks to Frank and Jenie for a Mezzanine Suite at the Warriors game! We were so close with food and drink readily available that’s how you watch a basketball game! It’s been at least a decade since this team has seen the playoffs or that our team was even in the race. We watched the Warriors take on the Utah Jazz in their fight for the 8th spot in the playoffs. Can you believe it, Baron Davis was actually not hurt! Each time I’ve gone he’s been hurt. What scares me is that how does a person have arthroscopic knee surgery and play ball in a week? Those pain killers are going to catch up to him when he’s older, scary what athletes do to their bodies. But man it was a freakin show with the Warriors destroying the Jazz by 30 points. Just show time and you can’t beat a game like this. With 4 games to go the Warriors look like the team to beat go Warriors!

Katie with her Warrior Gear!

Me and Franky J Go Warriors!

Wedding MC

I have now completed the 8th wedding as Master’s of Ceremony for my friends! A big congratulations to the Hallberg’s on their wedding and you have many babies quite shortly! Looks like I got this MC thing down, make it a business? I can’t charge my friends and quite a stressful job. You got the Wedding Singer, the Wedding Planner and me the Wedding MC!

Car Wash & Wax

I begin every spring with a nice 3 hour wash and wax typically alone. This year I found good old Frank to be a fellow car enthusiast even crazier than I was. 3 and half hours later we didn’t even vacuum the inside of the vehicle! But I have to say that he introduced me to some awesome products! Claybar, Invisible Glass, Macguires Tech Wax and the California Car Duster. You are the man! Take a look at our shiny babies. On the days it rains, I take the shuttle to work 8 minutes walking distance!
