The Google vs Yahoo! Badminton Winter Tournament was a huge success and took place on Friday December 14th at GGBC in Menlo Park with over 50 participants. I never realized organizing an event took this much effort! The complications of working with the gym, the opponent and the vendors. Then there is ordering the T-shirts, trophies, getting drinks and getting everyone signed up and paid up. It really is project management down to the very low level detailed tasks. In the end the event was a huge success and the teams had a great time battling and playing the sport that they love. Thanks to all who participated!My partner bailed out sick on me at 11PM the night before, so I had to substitute another Googler's brother to play with me. Frank and I played the best badminton we have played in over 2 years. We moved quickly to the bird and covered the court very cleanly. Our smashing was a one two punch, the back smash put the opponent on the defensive and the front man cleaned up. We kept the bird in the court and serving was perfect. When we focused our minds and were clear that we could win, we definetly took it to the house! Frank it's been awesome to share the field of battle with you!
