The Game That I Love

Many of you know that one of my newest old passions is the game of badminton. Talking to Katie last night, I made an observation that I am a better player than I was in high school. As you get older I don't think you can compensate as much with speed, so you compensate with form and some Rocky power! Many folks laugh when I tell them I play badminton, that's until they actually play the game. Here is a video of a game played at GGBC the club that I know play at. They are also the friendliest folks I have ever met at any gym in the Bay Area.

Goodbye Felicia and Brycen!

I know that many of my thoughts tend to be deep and they tend to be a little bit depressing. I have to say though that life gets really tiring when you have to constantly manage what an old Manager of mine called "friendly fire" from your own peers or friends. Before you think this is yet another one of those blogs it isn't!

Although far and few between there are great people out there that I am proud to still consider to be my friends. Of these Felicia and Brycen have been a highlight in our lives in the last few years. I am very saddenned yet happy for you two and Snowy in your new adventures in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is my favorite place in the world, except the smog that Zhu Hai has blown in to destroy this beautiful place. Hong Kong gets hot and let me tell you, nothing tastes better than a Vitasoy Lemon Tea from the local Sewun (7) on one of those hot days. We are from the US so you'll need about 3 of those each 1 just won't do. Please have a Wun-Tsai-Tze (street shark fin soup) and some yummy Hui Lau San Mango drinks.

You will both be missed very much and do keep in touch! We will visit you very very soon!

Tired of Facebook

There was a very interesting article on Facebook in regards to a leveling off of visitors to this site. I am honestly suffering from this Facebook fatigue as mentioned in the article.

http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/02/22/facebook-fatigue-visitors-level-off-in-the-us/

In my opinion Facebook is a-lot of hype, a passing fad that will fade in due time. Case study Friendster and My Space. For me, a social networking site helps me to better keep in touch with my friends and my network. I thought I had this all setup on Friendster and here comes Facebook. I had to re-connect to my friends again and I find Facebook to be too impersonal and applications are simply spam. Every new application that comes through I ignore; I don't want any dim sum, chinese new year gifts, vampire bites, zombie, poker or impersonal Super Wall posts. Sue, it can be addicting but for how long? After awhile, it becomes and enormous waste of time. I want a personal message from my network or I don't want to see anything at all. The cool factor is great for awhile, but at the end of the day very little value add for my relationships with my network.

Facebook worth 15 billion? I'm just not seeing it and sooner or later it will fade unless a new business model is found. Facebook should figure out how to monetize quickly before this train passes by.

Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles

You would not believe this but this is actually quite a good TV series. Similar to a movie bundled up in 1 hour sections. Good drama, good action a sense of urgency throughout. Very well done I'd recommend Tivo'ing this!

What Goes Around Comes Around

Hello My Nieces!

I just learned that the A sisters read my blog! Happy Birthday to Alicia! I have to say you guys are very creative taking a picture of me and editing it and posting on my desktop. You kids are so good with the computer and very creative! Here's a photo from our weekend! Yummy cheesecake I miss you all!

What Goes Around Comes Around

I have not had a chance to comment about the Patriots loss. Some would say that I am a hater, but I would say that I cheer for the humble in heart. The Patriots were a great team, there is no question about that. These championships speak for themselves. However the spygate tapes, running the score up on the Jets and Dolphins, walking off the field before the game is over and Brady/Moss withdrawal from the Pro Bowl; these are but a few signs of how arrogant and poor sportsmans these folks are. At the end of the day it's about the love for the game of football. Being a sore loser is whining like a child. So what goes around comes around. The Patriots wore their arrogance on their jerseys game in and game out, but the Giants had the heart of underdogs. They were Mr. T going after a complacent Rocky, they lost the eye of the Tiger they only had the eye of arrogance. It goes to show be good and live a stand up life, because what goes around comes around so always watch your back by how you live.
