Congratulations Steve and Tracy!

I would like to wish a big congratulations to Steve and Tracy on a wonderful wedding celebration this weekend! The Legion of Honor was simply gorgeous and the ceremony was as fun as any that I have seen. You are both blessed with a large and yet high quality group of friends. It was my honor to host wedding number 16 as Master of Ceremony and I hope everyone had a fun filled evening.

I have known Tracy for over 15 years back in our high school days, when adopting sibs was "in". I am so happy to say that all these years later Tracy is the one little sib that continues to stand the test of time.

Thank you for keeping in touch all of these years and being a sister to Katie as well. I still remember when we used to share tough stories about failed first loves in high school. I am so happy that you have found Steve your soulmate! For once I am able to say that you have found someone that meets with my stamp of approval! Steve you are a great guy and I am so happy for the two of you.
Enjoy your honeymoon and we'll see you when you both return! Congratulations!

MC'ing this wedding was a blast, tell me the last time you saw this many single females at a bouquet toss in the bay area!
Disclaimer: Many were imported from around the states from LA, Boston to New York. Sorry Bay Area relationship seekers, many were taken!

Welcome Goodbye Brycen and Felicia! =(

Boy, Felicia and Brycen come back often enough they might as well live here and not Hong Kong. Some people when you live with them you see things you tend to dislike, but I must say that Felicia and Brycen are truly a joy to have in the house! It was a hectic weekend but when Felicia is back for sure there is good eating all weekend and good late night drinks with Brycen. Here's to a sad uneventful time until Felicia returns to the bay area! Looks like I will be on a diet until you come back in April to fulfill those cravings Hong Kong just doesn't have. Come back soon you two, the bay area misses all the action!

Ava thanks Uncle Brycen and Auntie Felicia for her new Cal Onesie!

Monta Ellis Sprains Ankle Out 3 Months

I saw this header show up on my Gmail news banner and I literally froze in front of my computer screen. Diving deeper the story gets even worse. I figured he injured his ankle in exhibition play or a heavy work out with the team. No, he tears a deltoid ligament in his left ankle at a pickup game in his hometown. Ok Monta come on now, you are worth $66 million why are you still playing basketball at the local park with your high school buddies? I know you love the game but $66 million dollars could at least buy you some Active Ankle braces because you are used to having your ankles taped up by the training staff. Now the Warriors season is in jeapordy with the loss of Baron Davis Monta this was going to be your team! The seasons not over yet but we all know the beginning of it is going to be very very rough. Monta we hope you have a speedy recovery and please save your body for the NBA courts, anything else is just not worth the trouble.

Olympics are Over

I caught what I could for the Olympic games and I must say it has been a treat to follow for the last 2 weeks. The USA Spain basketball game was very stressful, I did not sit the entire 2nd half. That is what basketball games should be close and nail biting. Spain the underdog team fought and the US fought to stay in the lead. In the end it was Kobe Bryant the superstar with Dwayne Wade that got it done. That was a close one. Guess they proved to the world that superstars can play together and that is very nice to see again.

China put on a wonderful show, with beautiful facilities and ceremonies that really displays the Chinese culture to the world. Beijing sure has changed since I studied there 10 years ago. My struggle is with the questionable age of gymnasts and the replacement of the not so good looking chinese girl who sang the national anthem. If I take a step back from a project management perspective, no project is ever perfect and in total they did an excellent job with such a large scope. If the gymnastists are found to be underage then it is no different than Marion Jones on steroids. Their medals will be taken away and reissued. I am sad to not have olympics on when I go home, but perhaps it's time to hit the books!

Football 49ers and Denver Broncos

A quick note on the 49er game last week. JT O'Sullivan played a better game than his first with better timing and passes to his receivers. He started out slow but eventually things were clicking. The jury is still out we'll have to see his performance over a long stretch of time. Coach Mike Nolan refuses to answer questions on the radio as to who his starter is going to be. Could this be a Mike Martz trickery ploy to put in Alex at the last minute? I doubt it, at this point JT looks like the starter.

Had a chance to watch the Denver Broncos (Katie's team) play 2 quarters. Jay Cutler and receivers all look very good. Running game is a little lacking but the passing game top notch. Watch this team this year!

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

We'd thought it would be fun to embarrass Grandfather on his birthday. So they took him to the middle of the stage, sang and danced! Honestly, the food and wings are not that great, go to University Chicken in Santa Clara for wings, but I guess that's not why folks go here to eat. I had a very good western burger though. Love the many many LCD screens and sports channels. Happy birthday Grandpa!

Proud Grandparents!

Snippets of Thought

As life gets extremely busy with the 4 lives that I am running in parallel I will be doing more snippets of thought instead of my typical long articles.

Snippets

- I am happy to say that Ava being away for a week that she still recognizes her father. The house was very absent without the family! Welcome home!

- Google has a Badminton Google logo today Friday August 15, 2008!

- Frank needs to get back so we can get back to working out and back in shape for the next badminton tournament

- There has been some very beautiful weather in California I love this state!

- I am extremely excited about starting school this week. I truly miss learning and meeting new folks. School has proved to have all of these aspects and much more!

- You need people to get ahead in this world, networking will take you further than trying to do it on your own. You can still do it, but it is a-lot harder and the world will be a lonely place.

- Great music is still Chris Brown Forever, Dangerous Akon, Closer Ne-yo

- I am amazed at this generations sense of entitlement...

Sports - Can't leave out the sports!

- Tim Lincecum of the SF Giants is a monster pitcher, I had the opportunity to watch his 13 strikeouts and subsequent 10 strikeout games. I have never seen a more fearless pictcher throwing 96 mile per hour to an 0-2 then a 98 mph fastball to strikeout batters back to back. What a monster pitcher with quick 3 up and 3 outs. I used to do nothing but watch Barry bat and now I do nothing but watch Tim pitch.

- SF 49ers, yeah and that is all I have to say about that. Not sure why JT O'Sullivan is starting for the Niners. He looked terrible against the Raiders and throwing a backward pass when in trouble, not a great idea. Honestly out of the bunch Alex is still making the least mistakes when playing but we could really have used Favre in a Niner uniform. Could be politics between Martz and Nolan but he could messing with everyone's head and start Alex later. Anythings possible!

A Sad Farewell to Great Friends Jie and Linda!

Again we lose two more wonderful friends to the city of Hong Kong! Jie and Linda you will be missed in the Bay Area and best of wishes to both of you and your new journey. Reiterating my Master of Ceremony speech at your wedding, if there is anyway to summarize what friendship is it would be the great qualities that the two of you exhibit day in and day out to all of us over the years. You both just know how friendship works always with such giving hearts, unconditional love, being supportive and simply honourable people that always do the right thing. Again we wish you the greatest success in your new pursuits and we will look forward to seeing you very soon! You will be missed very dearly!
