A Brief Calm Before the Next Storm

At last a moment for me to breath as it has been an unrelentless push toward the end of my first 18 weeks in MBA school. It sure isn't easy to balance a job, another job, a family and school at the same time. Somehow it got done, but the word on the street is that the next two quarters are even more difficult than the last two. Last Thursday we finished a group final presentation to accounting firm partners and another marketing group final paper. These last 2 days I am happy to say that I was able to relax as I prepare for another round next January. Until then I am thoroughly enjoying this Christmas break. It has been so long since I have written so let me put down my thoughts in snippet mode again.

- Obama. I truly believe that Obama will make a difference in our country. He is a leader and an inspiration to the people that he reaches with his message. There are many obstacles, but it is time that this nation was once again inspired to be more than they are. That a youthful exuberance burst of energy required by leaders in this generation to move forward at a fast pace with a team of smart people. New thinking is needed to bring America back to the forefront of this global economy. Just as companies need to innovate, so does a country in order to move forward and progress. As in life and all aspects of business, talk is cheap, getting things done speaks for itself.

- It is a sad time in today's market with so many people out of work. This recession concerns all of us in the workforce. There are tough times ahead but this infrastructure program Obama is working on is the right way to go. Why are we bailing out auto makers? Create jobs and fund those positions instead of giving money away. It worked to get us out of the Great Depression it can work now.

- The 49ers, what a turnaround as they beat the Jets last week. This was the 49er team we expected to see. The same personnel just a new coach and new quarterback can do wonders. Quick short west coast offense passes and a strong defense. Go Niners against a hot Miami team. Either way it will be a great game.

- The Warriors, forget about it. =(
