It has been 9 weeks since I've blogged and well even seen my family. This last quarter was the toughest in the Evening Weekend Berkeley MBA program. The quarter consisted of two heavily quantitative courses in the subjects of Finance and Operations. There were about 2 group cases and 1 individual homework due per week, and a ton of material to go through. I am thankful that there are 8 more weeks and I will close out my first year. It has been a tough race with 9 week sprints of core classes, but it appears that I will survive.
Due to time limits I will shoot out some snippets of thought.
- I've learned that I actually love Jasmine Tea and of course have my own stash of Ten Ren Green Tea at work as well
- My Voyager phone is running low on batteries and IT has lent me a Blackberry Storm. Thus far performance is a major issue but what choice do I have on the Verizon network?
- Can't wait to rest this summer from a grueling school year!
- Looking forward to Felicia coming home for a bit I have been missing my entertaining friend!
- Big thanks to Felicia (especially) -> Tracy -> Pam and getting me some music from HK!
- I've always enjoyed the love compilations from Hong Kong. VA-Love 08 has not been a disappointment thus far and I am only on the first CD. The Chinese definitely should not rap or do rock, the traditional music is love songs and this album is a must buy http://www.hmv.com.hk/product/canto.asp?sku=253450
- Andy Lau's newest album Love Hope reaffirms to me, that he should have stuck with acting and not ventured into singing. He has a low range of vocals and the best songs he had were back in the 80's just because they were classics. You can pass on this CD despite all the hype http://www.hmv.com.hk/product/canto.asp?sku=197581. There are a few ok songs I Wish wasn't too bad. From a Mandarin speakers perspective, another thing that Cantonese people should not do is try to sing Mandarin songs.
- The Eason Chan Best Buy Top 48 is a bargain of course. I found a few good songs on here. Overall he is just alright to me. He goes the traditional route but doesn't have the higher notes in his range to back it up. I still love my Alan Tam. http://www.hmv.com.hk/product/canto.asp?sku=235646
- Eason does have new album I may take a listen to though! H3M http://www.hmv.com.hk/product/canto.asp?sku=406061
